Path of Exile 2 is a next-generation Action RPG from Grinding Gear Games that drops you onto the dark continent of Wraeclast, a land of ancient secrets, distinct cultures, and monstrous threats. A creeping Corruption thought long destroyed has returned to the edges of civilization, driving people mad and poisoning the land. Whether you are looking to buy Path of Exile 2 for solo exploration or co-op with friends, the game supports parties of up to six players through its full campaign and beyond. The core experience revolves around deep character building across twelve classes, with two options for every combination of Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence. Each class branches into three Ascendancy specialisations, creating thirty-six distinct paths to pursue. The real flexibility comes from the skill system: two hundred and forty Skill Gems grant active abilities, while two hundred Support Gems modify how those abilities behave. Support Gems now socket directly into Skill Gems, eliminating old frustrations while preserving the depth that made the original famous. The Passive Skill Tree returns with fifteen hundred skills and a new Dual Specialisation system. You can allocate points into two separate sets that activate based on your current weapon or skill type. Swap from daggers to traps, or from ice to lightning, and the relevant points engage automatically. This removes the opportunity cost of specialising in multiple areas, letting you experiment with hybrid approaches that would have been impractical before. Equipment hunting is equally expansive, with seven hundred base types each possessing a unique variant to discover. New weapon categories like Spears, Crossbows, and Flails join redesigned options such as Sceptres, alongside supplementary gear including Focuses and Traps. The campaign spans six acts across one hundred distinct environments, populated by six hundred monster types and capped with a boss encounter in every single area. Over one hundred bosses await, each with mechanics to learn and overcome. Completion opens the endgame, where special passive trees let you boost map rewards and alter how mechanics function — at the cost of increased difficulty. Several leagues from the original Path of Exile return as sequels with new monsters, bosses, rewards, and progression systems to master. Path of Exile 2 suits players who want genuine depth without pay-to-win structures.
